The UFC Let Ketlen Vieira Go. The PFL Had Cris Cyborg Waiting For Her.

Ketlen Vieira’s UFC career ended with three consecutive wins. She beat Macy Chiasson, Norma Dumont and Jacqueline Cavalcanti, the last by unanimous decision in May. Then the UFC relationship ended, and Vieira’s next assignment became considerably less subtle: Cris Cyborg for the PFL women’s featherweight championship in Tampa.

Cris Cyborg enters at 29-2 and remains unbeaten since Amanda Nunes stopped her in December 2018. PFL is promoting Saturday as the final MMA fight of Cyborg’s career and her final defense of the featherweight title.

Vieira won three straight UFC fights and somehow arrived at Cris Cyborg. At +265, she is still an interesting challenger. Vieira has spent a decade facing elite opposition, has excellent takedown defense, and has been stopped only once. Cyborg, now 41, remains the far more dangerous finisher.

Sara Collins Brought a Judo Résumé. Cris Cyborg Took Her Back Anyway.

Cyborg’s December title defense against Sara Collins added something useful to the scouting report.

Collins entered unbeaten and brought years of high-level judo experience. She even threw Cyborg in the third round and attacked an Americana. Cyborg escaped, took Collins’ back and finished a rear-naked choke at 2:55. It was only the second submission victory of her professional career.

That sequence has obvious relevance to Vieira, another judoka with a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt.

Ketlen Vieira defended 90 percent of takedown attempts during her UFC career. She is physically strong in the clinch and difficult to settle underneath an opponent.

Cris Cyborg doesn’t need conventional wrestling entries to reach those positions. Her punches drive opponents backward, where clinches and scrambles develop against the fence. Collins discovered that surviving the striking exchanges did not end the problem.

Ten Decisions Tell You Where Ketlen Vieira Lives

Vieira is 16-5, with 10 victories by decision. Her UFC average fight time was 15:16. That record describes her better than the old “grappler” label.

Vieira can spend long periods striking without forcing takedowns. Her pace is measured; she rarely wastes movement, and her physical strength makes ugly clinch exchanges productive rather than merely defensive.

Against Cavalcanti, she again found enough scoring work across three rounds to win unanimously. The victory followed decisions over Dumont and Chiasson.

The difficulty against Cyborg comes from its volume and damage. Vieira lands 2.71 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 3.73. She has never been a high-output striker.

Cris Cyborg can therefore win stretches of this fight without overwhelming her. Heavy combinations, low kicks and forward pressure can produce clearer scoring moments even when Vieira remains competitive between them.

Harrison Put Vieira Down. Keeping Her There Was Another Matter.

Kayla Harrison’s 2024 win over Vieira provides the best recent evidence of what elite physical pressure can extract from her.

Harrison controlled the first round from top position, while Vieira found more success once the fight returned to striking range. Harrison eventually won unanimously, but Vieira made her work through positions rather than simply accepting the grappling exchanges.

That performance reinforced what the career statistics already show: Vieira is extremely difficult to take down consistently.

Cyborg brings a different route into the same physical battle. She can punish Vieira during the approach instead of building the entire attack around completing takedowns. The clinch can follow a combination. The ground exchange can follow the clinch.

Cris Cyborg Turned 41. The Losing Streak Is Seven Years Old.

Age is the obvious reason to question a -357 favorite. The recent evidence refuses to cooperate. Cyborg went five rounds with Larissa Pacheco to claim the PFL title in 2024, then submitted Collins in the third round last December. PFL lists her current record at 29-2.

She has become more selective than the version who once treated every opening as an invitation to start a small fire.

The pressure remains, but Cyborg can now work behind kicks, manage distance and allow a fight to develop without forcing the finish. Against Collins, she was still finding answers deep into the third round.

The challenger has historically been difficult to finish, but simply extending the fight does not necessarily narrow Cyborg’s advantage.

The MMA/UFC Betting Hub offers useful context for that distinction. Durability matters differently when the favorite has already demonstrated she can win championship rounds rather than depending on an early stoppage. The PFL Betting Guide becomes particularly relevant with Vieira crossing promotions directly into a five-round title fight.

The Scale Finally Stops at 145

Vieira built her UFC career primarily at bantamweight. Saturday places her in a scheduled featherweight championship fight.

The physical transition is interesting because the measurements themselves are close. Vieira is 5-foot-8 with a 68-inch reach; Cyborg is also listed around 5-foot-8, with a slightly longer reach.

Cyborg’s advantage is experience carrying the weight. She has spent most of her elite career fighting at or around featherweight, where her strength has carried her through clinches, scrambles, and championship rounds.

Cris Cyborg vs Ketlen Vieira Fight Prediction

Vieira is a credible underdog because her durability and takedown defence remove some easy routes.

Cyborg still has more ways to score. Her striking carries greater damage, her pressure can create clinch positions without relying on naked takedowns, and the Collins fight showed that scrambling with her carries its own risk.

Vieira’s decision-heavy style should keep portions competitive. Over five rounds, however, Cyborg can accumulate the cleaner and more visible work without needing the knockout.

Prediction: Cris Cyborg by unanimous decision.

Betting Analysis

Bookmaker Sportsbook prices Cyborg at -357 and Vieira at +265.

Cyborg deserves clear favoritism. She hasn’t lost an MMA fight since 2018, has the greater finishing threat, and has recent evidence across both five-round distances and submission scenarios.

Vieira’s +265 price is not ridiculous. She brings 90 percent UFC takedown defence, has won three straight and has spent years facing ranked opposition.

The problem is finding enough rounds for the upset. Vieira has not finished an opponent since 2018. Against Cyborg, a decision route requires repeatedly winning close exchanges against the fighter more likely to land the visibly damaging shots.

Betting Lean

Cris Cyborg (-357), limited value.

The supplied line offers no total or method market, so there is little reason to manufacture a more adventurous position. Vieira’s durability makes the fight interesting; Cyborg’s broader scoring routes still make her the pick.
