New England Revolution vs Houston Dynamo Prediction: Guilherme Is Making +193 Difficult To Ignore
Houston Dynamo arrive at Gillette Stadium as +193 outsiders despite bringing one of MLS’s hottest attacking players and a defense coming off another clean sheet. New England are +146 favorites, with the draw at +242, but those prices become considerably more interesting when you consider Guilherme’s recent production alongside the Revolution’s inability to protect a two-goal lead in Montréal last weekend.
New England Revolution vs Houston Dynamo is not a matchup where the home favorite can simply wait for territorial advantage to do the work.
Houston is carrying genuine momentum, and Guilherme is increasingly determining where it leads.
The Last Meeting Belonged To Houston
These teams have not met since October 2, 2024, when Houston won 2-1 at Shell Energy Stadium.
Ezequiel Ponce opened the scoring shortly after halftime before Carles Gil equalized from the penalty spot four minutes later. Erik Sviatchenko then produced the decisive moment in the 68th minute, curling home Houston’s winner.
The statistics reflected a game Houston deserved to win. The Dynamo finished with 22 shots to New England’s 17 and put eight on target compared with four for the Revolution.
Much has changed since then. Gil remains central to New England. Houston’s attacking story has acquired a very different protagonist.

Guilherme Is Carrying Houston
Guilherme’s numbers have moved beyond a good spell of form. He scored again in Houston’s 2-0 victory over Sporting Kansas City last weekend, taking him to 10 goals for the season and five across his last eight appearances. Even more strikingly, he has been involved in 17 of Houston’s first 25 goals of the campaign.
That concentration of production tells New England exactly where the danger is coming from.
Guilherme is most dangerous when Houston can move the ball through midfield quickly enough to give him possession before the defensive block is completely established. Mateusz Bogusz provides another creative reference point, meaning opponents cannot simply collapse around Guilherme without conceding useful pockets elsewhere.
Houston’s second goal against Kansas City came from Agustín Bouzat, while the 2-0 victory produced the Dynamo’s sixth clean sheet of the season.
New England’s Montréal Draw Left A Warning
New England’s 2-2 draw against CF Montréal should have been considerably more comfortable.
Carles Gil put the Revolution ahead after 30 minutes and Dor Turgeman doubled the advantage six minutes later. At that stage, New England had exactly the sort of match state they would want.
They still failed to win. Brayan Vera scored for Montréal in the 52nd minute, and Prince Owusu equalized seven minutes later. A 2-0 lead had disappeared within fourteen minutes of the restart.
That matters against Houston because the Dynamo do not necessarily need prolonged territorial dominance to hurt opponents. If New England’s distances between midfield and defense begin stretching after turnovers, Guilherme has the acceleration and confidence to attack those spaces immediately.
The Revolution cannot afford another period where a comfortable game suddenly becomes an open one.

Jack Harrison Changes The Equation
There is also a new variable. Jack Harrison has received the necessary visa clearance and is eligible to make his Revolution debut against Houston.
The 29-year-old brings extensive Premier League experience and already knows MLS after his earlier spell with New York City FC. His arrival gives New England another player capable of carrying possession through wide areas rather than asking Gil to manufacture almost every dangerous progression through the middle.
Whether Harrison starts or enters later, his presence matters. Houston’s defensive shape has been increasingly reliable, but Harrison can force a full-back to defend wider and potentially create additional interior space for Gil and Turgeman.
For New England, that could be the tactical adjustment that prevents Houston from becoming too comfortable without the ball.
Gil And Guilherme Pull The Game In Different Directions
Carles Gil remains New England’s organizer. Guilherme has become Houston’s accelerator. That contrast may define the match.
Gil wants enough possession to move Houston’s defensive structure from side to side, waiting for a passing lane to appear between midfield and defense. Guilherme is considerably happier when the game breaks apart, and Houston can attack before New England recovers its positions.
The team that dictates the speed of possession should therefore dictate much of the afternoon.
Readers using the Soccer Betting Hub alongside Soccer Data Betting should pay particular attention to that distinction rather than simply comparing possession numbers. Yahoo Sports currently has New England fourth in MLS for successful-pass percentage at 89.85%, with Houston immediately behind at 89.72%. Both teams can retain possession. What they do immediately after breaking the opposition’s first defensive line is considerably more important.

Betting Analysis
Bookmaker Sportsbook makes New England the +146 home favorite, Houston the +193 underdog, and the draw the +242 underdog.
The goal line is 2.5, with the over priced at -117 and the under at -103. New England -0.5 is available at +143, while Houston +0.5 costs -173.
The moneyline is where the disagreement begins. New England’s home advantage, Gil’s creativity and the potential introduction of Harrison justify favoritism. But +146 is not particularly generous against a Houston side arriving unbeaten in its recent run, carrying one of the league’s most productive attackers and coming off a clean-sheet road victory.
The total is more difficult. New England scored twice in Montréal but also surrendered twice after halftime. Houston has enough transition threat to punish another defensive lapse, while Harrison potentially gives the Revolution another route into the final third.
That makes the over tempting, although Houston’s improving defensive record argues against treating a three-goal match as automatic.
New England Revolution vs Houston Dynamo Betting Lean
Houston Dynamo +0.5 (-173) is the safer interpretation of the matchup, but the price removes much of its appeal.
The more interesting position is the Houston Dynamo moneyline (+193).
There is obviously greater variance attached to asking the road side to win outright, but the price better reflects the tactical opportunity. Houston can defend compactly, allow New England possession and attack the spaces that appear when the Revolution push numbers forward.
With Guilherme in this form, those transitions carry considerably more threat than they did earlier in the season.
Betting Lean: Houston Dynamo moneyline (+193)
Secondary Lean: Over 2.5 goals (-117)
New England have enough attacking quality to score at home. The question is whether they can prevent Guilherme from finding the moments that have been deciding Houston matches for much of the summer.
