Mickey Gall Returns To Dumas’s Worst Problem
Mickey Gall has not fought for nearly two years, has lost four straight and is moving up to middleweight.
Bookmaker Sportsbook still opened him at -165 against Sedriques Dumas. That price looks less eccentric when you factor in Dumas’s last two fights. Jackson McVey submitted him in April. Donte Johnson submitted him five months earlier.
Gall has spent his professional career doing one thing conspicuously better than everything else: six of his seven victories have come by submission. Twenty-two months of rust is a serious question. Dumas has provided an equally serious answer for why the favorite might get away with it.
Mickey Gall’s Layoff Comes With Extra Weight
Gall returns at middleweight rather than the welterweight division where he spent most of his UFC career. That adds uncertainty to an already peculiar comeback. He has not competed since November 2024, and there is no recent fight evidence showing what the larger version of Gall looks like under pressure.
Mickey Gall says fatherhood has changed the man returning to competition. He described entering the UFC as a kid and now wanting to “reintroduce myself as a man.” Dumas is unlikely to request identification.

Dumas Has Seen This Movie Twice
Dumas has more variety offensively. His ten professional victories include four knockouts, two submissions and four decisions.
The unresolved problem is what happens when Gall stops exchanging with him. Johnson submitted Dumas in November, and McVey in April. Three of his five professional defeats have come that way.
Gall’s striking does not require a sudden renaissance for that history to matter. His six submission victories already explain where his strongest argument lives.

Plus 110 Puts A Clock On It
Bookmaker Sportsbook opening line: Mickey Gall at -165 and Dumas at +144. Over 1.5 rounds is -130, with under 1.5 at +110.
Gall’s inactivity makes paying -165 uncomfortable. The weight change adds another unknown. The total offers a cleaner expression of the matchup.
Dumas’s last two fights ended by submission before the midpoint of Round 2. Gall returns with six submission victories and an opponent who has recently struggled precisely where Gall does his best work.
A two-year layoff has given Gall plenty to prove. Fortunately for him, Dumas has been unusually generous with the syllabus.
Prediction: Mickey Gall by submission.
Betting Lean: Under 1.5 rounds (+110).
