Lozano Returns Before San Diego FC Blinks
San Diego FC is -140 at Bookmaker Sportsbook, with the LA Galaxy +333 and the draw +342. The betting lean is San Diego -0.5 at -140.
There are ordinary revenge games, and then there is Hirving Lozano returning to Snapdragon Stadium 22 days after changing employers.
Lozano joined the Galaxy on loan from San Diego on August 7. Saturday is his first game against his former club. Better still, the last time these teams met, Lozano scored San Diego’s stoppage-time winner in a 2-1 victory. San Diego has won both previous meetings.
Who Owns the Familiarity Now?
Lozano made his Galaxy debut August 15, then started against San Jose four days later. He arrived after producing nine goals and 10 assists in 27 appearances for San Diego.
That gives Saturday an unusual wrinkle. San Diego knows the movements and habits of the player now entering its stadium from the opposite tunnel. Lozano knows the structure, personnel and rhythms he left less than a month ago.
Neither advantage is theoretical scouting material assembled from old video. It is recent memory.
The Galaxy have also changed around him. Kyogo Furuhashi and Robert Taylor arrived during the summer, while former Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto has now joined the squad. LA is attempting to build something new while asking Lozano to face something extremely familiar.

San Diego FC Already Changed Without Him
San Diego has not spent August staring at the empty locker.
Mikey Varas’ side has won four consecutive home matches and responded to a 3-1 defeat at Portland by beating Colorado 3-0 last Saturday. Onni Valakari, Elias Achouri and Gabriel Pirani scored.
There is one important absence. Marcus Ingvartsen, San Diego’s leading scorer with 11 goals, is out with a lower-body injury.
That removes the team’s most productive finisher just as Lozano returns with the opposition.
San Diego still owns 37 goals in 21 league matches and a 5-3-3 home record. The Galaxy have scored 27 in 22 and are 3-4-4 away.
Twenty-Two Days Is Barely Goodbye
The Galaxy arrive after a 2-2 draw at Montréal and have lost only once in their last five MLS matches. Their defensive work has improved considerably from earlier in the season, even if the attack remains much less prolific than San Diego’s.
Saturday therefore lands somewhere between reunion and competitive inconvenience.
Lozano is back before San Diego has even completed a month without him. The Galaxy get a player with intimate knowledge of the opponent. San Diego gets the opportunity to demonstrate how much of its identity survived his departure.
The Soccer Betting Hub and Soccer Data Betting guide provide the wider context behind the numbers. Here, San Diego’s home form carries more weight than the theater surrounding one familiar face.

How Much Is Home Form Worth?
San Diego has won four straight at Snapdragon and enters one point ahead of the Galaxy in the standings, 27 to 26. LA remains without João Klauss, Lucas Sanabria and Elijah Wynder, while goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski is suspended.
Lozano makes the matchup considerably more interesting. He doesn’t erase San Diego’s four straight home wins.
Prediction: San Diego FC 2-1 LA Galaxy.
Betting lean: San Diego -0.5 at -140.
