Keita Gets No Easy UFC Paris Reboot

Losene Keita enters UFC Paris with something more specific than redemption on his mind. After losing a split decision to Nathaniel Wood in his UFC debut, Keita admitted this week that he had made the UFC feel bigger than it was. He expected another level entirely, then realized afterward that he needed to trust the tools that made him successful in the first place.

Muhammad Naimov is a useful opponent for testing whether that lesson has stuck. He is 5-2 in the UFC, has already beaten Wood, and has repeatedly shown he can make opponents solve several problems over three rounds rather than survive one obvious weapon.

Keita Thought The UFC Was Different

Keita’s pre-UFC résumé was built on speed, power and sudden acceleration. Ten of his 16 professional wins have come by knockout or TKO. In his UFC debut, however, the familiar aggression was interrupted by caution as Wood edged a split decision.

Keita now says he should have been “the same Keita as usual.” That matters because Naimov’s style rewards hesitation. He lands only 2.51 significant strikes per minute, but mixes clinch work, kicks and takedowns well enough to interrupt rhythm and drag opponents into less comfortable phases.

Naimov Has Spoiled Better Plans Before

Naimov averages 1.49 takedowns per 15 minutes and has 68% takedown defense. Those numbers aren’t overwhelming, but they explain why he can make clean strikers spend valuable minutes hand-fighting, defending positions, and restarting attacks.

His recent form also carries a warning in both directions. Naimov beat Kaan Ofli and Bogdan Grad by unanimous decision in 2025 before Mairon Santos stopped him 21 seconds into the third round at UFC 323. The loss exposed the cost of staying available in striking exchanges once opponents find his timing.

Wood Left Keita With A Choice

Keita has the sharper offensive ceiling. His UFC sample is only one fight, but he landed 3.47 significant strikes per minute against Wood while defending 62% of incoming significant strikes. Across a much deeper UFC sample, Naimov absorbs 3.35 per minute and defends 45%.

That makes the opening round important. If Keita lets Naimov dictate the pace through clinches and resets, this can become another narrow, ugly scorecard fight. If he establishes his combinations early and forces Naimov backward, the matchup changes quickly.

Minus 360 Leaves Little Forgiveness

Bookmaker Sportsbook opened Keita at -360 and Naimov at +289, with Under 2.5 rounds -135 and Over 2.5 +115.

The favorite price is steep for a fighter with one UFC appearance, but it reflects Keita’s faster hands, cleaner combination work and superior finishing record. Naimov’s durability and wrestling variety are the reasons not to treat the line casually.

UFC Paris: Keita vs Naimov Betting Lean

Losene Keita -360. Fight prediction: Keita by second-round TKO.

Naimov can slow the fight, but his 45% significant-strike defense leaves too many openings against someone who can build offense in bursts. The risk is Keita reverting to the hesitation he has already identified. If he truly arrives as “the same Keita as usual,” Naimov may not get enough time to make this complicated.
