Five Sacks Follow Jalen Hurts Into Sunday
Philadelphia has six days to fix what Los Angeles can attack immediately. Jalen Hurts was sacked five times Monday night in Chicago. The Eagles managed seven points. Now a Rams defensive front built to collapse the pocket arrives in Philadelphia. At the same time, the Eagles’ first Week 4 injury report adds another problem: reserve tackle Fred Johnson was listed as a non-participant with a knee injury.
Los Angeles brings its own uncertainty. Puka Nacua has missed two straight games with hip/groin soreness, although Sean McVay said there is optimism he can return Sunday.
Bookmaker Sportsbook‘s opening line has Los Angeles -3 (-114) and Philadelphia +3 (-102), with the total at 43. My pick is Rams -3, with Los Angeles winning 24-17.
Jalen Hurts Gets Pressure Before Recovery
Eight sacks through three games already put Philadelphia’s protection under scrutiny. Sunday compresses the repair window.
Jalen Hurts played Monday night. Los Angeles played Sunday. That extra recovery day matters more when the matchup is decided partly by repeated collisions around the quarterback.
Philadelphia also estimated DeVonta Smith as a non-participant Wednesday with a hamstring injury. Dallas Goedert was listed with a knee injury, while Jalen Carter was a full participant despite his wrist issue.

Nacua Changes Stafford’s Geometry
Nacua’s status remains conditional, not settled. McVay described the Rams as “hopeful” after Nacua missed the previous two games. If his progression continues, Matthew Stafford could regain the receiver who caught 129 passes for 1,715 yards last season.
Davante Adams has already shown what concentrated targets can become without him. Putting both on the field changes Philadelphia’s coverage problem before Stafford ever releases the football.

Philadelphia Finds the Missing Corner
Los Angeles will not arrive intact either. McVay said Jaylen Watson will “probably” miss Sunday after dislocating his shoulder against Denver. Tight end Terrance Ferguson is also likely out with a medial ankle sprain, while Colby Parkinson’s AC joint injury leaves his status unresolved.
Watson’s absence is the dangerous one. Philadelphia may be looking for cleaner protection, but A.J. Brown can still punish a secondary before that protection has to survive long. Smith’s hamstring status determines how many places Los Angeles can afford to send help.

Three Points Prices the Extra Day
Philadelphia getting three at home is uncomfortable for a reason. Hurts remains the mechanism that can destroy a clean handicap. Designed movement, scrambles and explosive throws can turn pressure into empty grass.
But Los Angeles arrives with the longer preparation window and potentially Nacua returning. Philadelphia arrives after Monday night with protection problems and several offensive availability questions still unresolved.
At -3, the Rams are priced at exactly the point where those extra 24 hours matter.
Philadelphia has six days to fix the pocket. Los Angeles only has to find it.
