Fiorot Keeps Alexa Grasso One Step Away

Alexa Grasso has already proved that one clean exchange can rewrite a fight. Manon Fiorot has spent most of her UFC career making those exchanges difficult to reach.

That is Saturday’s problem. Grasso enters healthy after knocking out Maycee Barber in 2:42 in March, her first victory after losses to Valentina Shevchenko and Natalia Silva. Fiorot returned from her own title defeat by stopping Jasmine Jasudavicius in 74 seconds. Two rebounds, two emphatic finishes, and very different routes toward another title shot.

Grasso called Fiorot a fight that “has to be,” noting that both women have challenged for the belt and want another opportunity. Fiorot says the UFC has told her the winner is next in line. The stakes hardly require decorative lighting.

Fiorot Changed Something She Couldn’t Measure

Fiorot’s adjustment after losing a competitive five-round decision to Shevchenko was not simply technical.

She increased her work with mental coach Pauline Leroux, focusing more heavily on visualization and mindset. That matters here because Fiorot already owns the physical tools to make Grasso impatient: a 5-foot-7 frame, constant movement at distance and a striking game built to keep opponents working before they can settle into their preferred exchanges.

Against Erin Blanchfield, Fiorot landed 172 significant strikes across five rounds, with 167 coming at distance. That is the type of fight Grasso cannot casually accept. If Fiorot dictates where exchanges begin, Grasso risks spending three rounds trying to arrive rather than attacking once she gets there.

Alexa Grasso’s Best Weapon Needs Less Space

Grasso’s March finish of Barber provided the counterargument. Barber entered on a seven-fight winning streak. Grasso stopped her in the opening round, showing that her boxing remains dangerous when an opponent gives her a clean pocket to work inside. Grasso herself has stressed another important difference entering Saturday: she is healthy, without the foot injury and compromised preparation that preceded earlier setbacks.

That makes this a more interesting version of Grasso than the one Natalia Silva outlanded 65-45 in significant strikes at UFC 315.

But Fiorot presents some of the same geometric inconvenience. She can score without remaining stationary long enough for Grasso to build extended punching sequences.

Three Rounds Shrink Alexa Grasso’s Margin

Fiorot has already demonstrated five-round cardio against Shevchenko and Blanchfield, while Grasso has extensive championship-round experience of her own. Conditioning is therefore unlikely to decide this on its own.

The shorter three-round format changes the arithmetic instead. A first round spent reading Fiorot’s movement carries more weight when only ten minutes remain afterward. Fiorot has shown she can accumulate scoring at distance without producing a dramatic moment, while Grasso becomes more dangerous when the space between them contracts and exchanges last longer.

That makes where those exchanges happen central to Saturday’s fight. Long stretches at Fiorot’s preferred range favor her volume and movement. More sustained exchanges inside that range give Grasso’s boxing greater influence on the scorecards.

Fiorot’s 2025 title loss also showed she is not untouchable. Shevchenko edged her 72-71 in significant strikes and mixed in two takedowns. Grasso brings a different set of threats, so that result is useful as evidence of Fiorot’s margins rather than a blueprint for Saturday.

Fight Prediction: Manon Fiorot by unanimous decision.

Betting Analysis

Bookmaker Sportsbook opening line lists Fiorot at -245 and Grasso at +203, with over 2.5 rounds at -400 and under 2.5 at +317.

The moneyline asks for a substantial price on Fiorot, but the matchup supports her favoritism. Her distance striking, movement and ability to accumulate rounds offer more ways to win minutes than Grasso’s narrower requirement to consistently close space and create productive boxing exchanges.

Betting Lean: Manon Fiorot -245.
