DWCS: Santos Brings Abdullaev Fifteen Minutes
Ednilson Santos accepted the wrong fight on the right kind of notice. He had only about a week to prepare specifically for Akbar Abdullaev after Anthony Figueroa withdrew, but Santos was already training for an October LFA bout. That matters against an undefeated lightweight who has finished every professional opponent but hasn’t competed since September 2025.
Santos therefore brings something Abdullaev has rarely encountered recently: a veteran accustomed to fights surviving long enough to become complicated.
Bookmaker Sportsbook‘s opening line: Abdullaev -2000, Santos +1041. Technical prediction: Akbar Abdullaev by second-round TKO.
Thirteen Opponents Never Reached Scorecards
Abdullaev’s 13-0 record contains no decisions. Twelve victories came by knockout or TKO and one by submission. More revealingly, his recent finishing sequence has stretched from the first round all the way to the fifth.
Tang Kai lasted into Round 5 before Abdullaev stopped him. Ibragim Dauev reached Round 3. Halil Amir reached Round 2. Aaron Canarte and Oh Ho-taek disappeared in the first.
That progression makes Abdullaev more difficult to reduce to an early-round destroyer. His finishing threat has survived opponents getting beyond the initial exchanges.

Santos Owns The Missing Fifteen Minutes
Santos is 14-7-1 with seven knockout wins, one submission and six decisions. More importantly for this matchup, 11 of his 22 professional fights have reached the judges.
His latest did exactly that. Santos defeated Shaheen Santana by unanimous decision in May, following a second-round knockout loss to Dylan Mantello and a decision victory over UFC veteran Kamuela Kirk.
That experience creates the fight’s interesting contradiction. Abdullaev has never required a decision; Santos has spent half his career negotiating them.
But Santos has also been stopped twice by strikes. Abdullaev’s pressure therefore attacks the precise durability fault that exists within an otherwise experienced résumé.

One Year Tests A Perfect Pattern
Abdullaev’s last fight was his September 2025 third-round stoppage of Dauev. Santos fought in May.
The layoff introduces uncertainty without automatically creating weakness. Abdullaev’s record shows both immediate violence and patience deep into fights, while Santos’ route to competitiveness rests on extending exchanges long enough for that year away to become relevant.
That is a narrow route. Abdullaev owns the cleaner power, undefeated durability and much stronger recent finishing form.
Minus 2000 Leaves No Cushion
Bookmaker Sportsbook‘s opening line of Abdullaev -2000 and Santos +1041 makes the winner market difficult to justify.
Abdullaev is the technical pick, but -2000 prices him as something approaching inevitability against a 22-fight veteran who was already in camp.
Fight prediction: Akbar Abdullaev by second-round TKO.
Betting lean: Pass on the moneyline. The matchup favors Abdullaev considerably more than the price rewards backing him.
