Dumas Prepared For Gall. Luis Hernandez Just Arrived.
Eleven days ago, Luis Hernandez did not have a UFC contract. Now he has one, an undefeated record, a 204-pound body, and a -241 price attached to a UFC debut he accepted on less than three days’ notice. Sedriques Dumas prepared for Mickey Gall at middleweight and instead gets Hernandez at light heavyweight. Hernandez weighed seven pounds more Friday.
Bookmaker Sportsbook‘s opening line: Dumas +200, Hernandez -241; Over 1.5 (+184), Under 1.5 (-220). Prediction: Hernandez by first-round submission. Betting lean: Under 1.5 rounds (-220).
Eleven Days Apparently Count As Recovery
Luis Hernandez earned his contract by submitting Hugo Guillon in the second round on Dana White’s Contender Series. UFC confirms Saturday comes just 11 days later.
Normally, that turnaround would be the reason to distrust a -241 favorite. Then Hernandez weighed 204 pounds. Dumas weighed 197.
So the late replacement has not spent fight week desperately trying to become small enough for somebody else’s contest. The division moved to meet him.

Dumas Prepared For Another Problem
This is where Gall’s withdrawal becomes more than administrative trivia. Dumas spent camp expecting a UFC veteran returning after nearly two years away. Instead, he gets an unbeaten newcomer who has just finished a fight, owns five submission victories among eight wins, and has had virtually no time to become stale.
Dumas is 10-5 with four knockout wins and two submissions. UFC lists Hernandez as his current opponent, ending any remaining ambiguity created by the late switch.

Minus 220 Expects Immediate Trouble
The Under 1.5 price is hideous. Unfortunately, the fight explains it. Luis Hernandez has finished all eight professional victories, while Dumas enters trying to stop a four-fight winless run that includes three stoppage defeats.
Luis Hernandez is accepting enormous uncertainty. Dumas is facing it. And Friday’s scale removed the easiest argument against the newcomer: Hernandez is not arriving undersized.
Prediction: Luis Hernandez by first-round submission.
Betting lean: Under 1.5 rounds (-220).
