Cornolle’s Comeback Carries a Dangerous Tempo
Nora Cornolle is returning from a surgical repair- enough for doctors to clear her after six months- and she did so with remarkably little interest in easing herself back into competition. At UFC Paris media day, she said the injury has healed sufficiently for doctors to clear her after six months and made her intention equally plain: she wants a finish.
Klaudia Syguła gives that ambition an awkward test. The 27-year-old has won consecutive UFC decisions and lands 7.27 significant strikes per minute, with 97% of her recorded significant strikes coming at distance. She is not arriving to survive Cornolle’s homecoming. She specifically asked for a ranked opponent and called Cornolle a powerful, well-rounded challenge.
The fight turns on whether Cornolle can convert aggression into damaging clinch exchanges before Syguła’s pace makes every unsuccessful entry expensive.
151 Strikes Explain Syguła’s Threat
Syguła landed 151 significant strikes over three rounds against Priscila Cachoeira in February, including 61 in the opening round. She attempted 335. The important number is not merely the volume but where it happened: 150 of those significant strikes came at distance.
That gives Cornolle a very different problem from an opponent looking primarily to wrestle. Syguła can remain busy while forcing the Frenchwoman to cross space repeatedly.
She also understands exactly where Cornolle becomes more dangerous. Syguła identified Cornolle’s Muay Thai, physical strength, elbows and knees in the clinch as major concerns while emphasizing that the Frenchwoman cannot be dismissed as only a striker because of her submission wins.

The Clinch Changes the Arithmetic
Cornolle’s UFC striking rate is only 2.73 significant strikes landed per minute, but reading that beside Syguła’s 7.27 without context misses the fight. Cornolle has six knockouts and two submissions among nine professional victories. She generally wants exchanges to become consequential rather than merely numerous.
Her best route therefore runs through the range Syguła already says concerns her: close enough for knees, elbows, body work and physical clinch pressure.
Cornolle’s February loss to Joselyne Edwards also creates the unavoidable physical question. Edwards slammed her onto the shoulder before finishing by rear-naked choke, and Cornolle later confirmed the clavicle fracture required major surgery. She says rehabilitation was deliberately cautious and that the objective now is to compete without allowing fear of reinjury to dictate her decisions.
The UFC Betting Guide provides additional context for separating finishing ability from round-winning consistency.

Paris May Reward the Less Dramatic Fighter
Syguła owns the cleaner route to repeatable minutes. She is two inches longer in reach, throws considerably more volume, and has already demonstrated that she can sustain that work across three rounds. Cornolle has the more dangerous finishing profile, particularly if she traps Syguła in close quarters.
The technical prediction therefore comes down to geography. If Syguła keeps the fight at long and middle range, her output should accumulate faster than Cornolle can answer. If Cornolle repeatedly reaches the clinch, those statistics become considerably less comfortable.
Fight prediction: Klaudia Syguła by unanimous decision.
Betting Analysis
Bookmaker Sportsbook prices Syguła at -105 and Cornolle at -115, effectively making this a pick’em. The Over 2.5 rounds is heavily shaded to -230, with the Under at +192.
That total fits Syguła’s recent pattern: both of her latest UFC victories reached the scorecards. Cornolle’s finishing history makes -230 difficult to love, however, especially when she is openly talking about returning to the aggressive style that produced eight stoppages in nine victories.
Betting Lean
Klaudia Syguła -105. Her length, sustained distance output, and demonstrated three-round pace provide more reliable ways to bank minutes. The genuine risk is Cornolle forcing prolonged clinch exchanges, where Syguła’s volume advantage can disappear quickly, and the Frenchwoman’s knees and elbows become the more meaningful weapons.
