Carli Judice vs Jeisla Chaves: The Favorite Throws Enough Leather for Two Fighters
Jeisla Chaves has never lost a professional MMA fight. Carli Judice has lost twice, both by split decision, and has nevertheless been installed as a -585 favorite against her.
The price begins to make sense when the fights start moving.
Judice is 6-2 with five knockouts. Since losing a split decision to Gabriella Fernandes in her UFC debut, she has stopped Yuneisy Duben in the first round, stopped Nicolle Caliari in the third and beaten Juliana Miller by unanimous decision. Chaves is 8-0 after edging Sofia Montenegro on Contender Series and Duben in her UFC debut, both by split decision.
Judice has landed significant strikes in the UFC at roughly twice Chaves’ current rate, and she doesn’t appear particularly interested in rationing them.
Carli Judice Fights at a Pace Chaves Has Not Yet Had to Match
Judice’s UFC striking numbers are unusual. She has landed about 8.7 significant strikes per minute, while absorbing approximately 4.7. Chaves’ single UFC appearance produced rates around 4.3 landed and 4.1 absorbed.
The volume comes from Judice repeatedly rebuilding combinations rather than waiting for one clean counter. Against Caliari, she landed 38 significant strikes in the first round and 47 in the second before stopping her in the third. Caliari attempted seven takedowns across those opening two rounds and completed none.
That combination of output and defensive wrestling is particularly relevant here. Chaves landed three of six takedowns against Duben and accumulated 4:29 of control time. She spent more than three minutes controlling the second round alone. Judice has defended roughly 83% of the UFC takedowns attempted against her.

Chaves Has More Tools Than Her UFC Debut Initially Suggests
UFC identifies Chaves as a striker, which is understandable given her Muay Thai background and four knockout victories. She is also a BJJ purple belt and has two career finishes by elbows.
Chaves landed 28 significant strikes in the opening round, then changed the physical geography of the fight. Her second round included a takedown and 3:01 of control. She landed two more takedowns in the third.
Her accuracy was also striking: 64 significant strikes from 99 attempts. The sample is one UFC fight, so treating 65% accuracy as an established career rate would be foolish. The individual exchanges still show a fighter who does not need Judice’s volume to score effectively.
Chaves can also work in the clinch. UFC’s positional data credits 22 of her 149 recorded significant strikes from clinch positions, with another 14 on the ground.
Judice Has Already Been Forced to Solve the Wrestling Question
Juliana Miller offered a useful rehearsal in February. Miller is a submission-oriented fighter who won The Ultimate Fighter 30 and entered their Houston bout with three submission victories. Judice beat her by unanimous decision, taking two 29-28 cards and one 30-27.
That fight extended Judice’s winning streak to three and gave her something her two previous victories had not: a full 15-minute UFC win.
Judice’s five knockouts in six professional wins can make her look like a fighter who requires an early opening. Her win over Caliari came at 1:30 of the third round, after Judice had already produced enormous striking volume through the first ten minutes.
A fighter throwing this much without her output disappearing late presents Chaves with a different cardio problem from simply surviving an explosive first round.

Jeisla Chaves’ Undefeated Record Has Twice Needed the Judges to Squint
Chaves reached the UFC at 7-0 after defeating Sofia Montenegro by split decision on Contender Series. UFC’s own recap described it as a bloody, punishing fight and acknowledged debate around the decision.
Her UFC debut produced another split decision. Against Duben, two judges scored the fight 29-28 for Chaves while the third had it 29-28 for Duben.
She remains undefeated because she has kept finding ways to take rounds when fights become competitive. The wrestling she introduced against Duben is part of that skill rather than decoration.
Judice’s volume quickly puts numbers on the scorecards. Chaves cannot spend two minutes unsuccessfully trying to complete a takedown while Judice lands on the break and expect the judges to reward the attempt.
Their Shared Opponent Draws the Stylistic Map
Duben is the only UFC opponent they share. Judice knocked her out with a head kick at 1:40 of the first round in March 2025. Chaves fought her for 15 minutes this June and won by split decision.
The conclusion is not that Judice must therefore destroy Chaves. Fighters are not equations, and common-opponent arithmetic has ruined plenty of perfectly serviceable predictions.
The useful material is in how each woman fought Duben. Judice kept the fight entirely on the feet and found the finish.
Chaves absorbed 62 significant strikes, landed 64, completed three takedowns and used nearly four and a half minutes of control to help win the decision.

Carli Judice vs Jeisla Chaves Fight Prediction
Chaves’ best route begins with refusing Judice a clean striking rhythm. Tie up after combinations, make the fence useful, force Judice to defend takedowns and turn sections of each round into grappling exchanges.
Judice’s takedown defense has held at approximately 83% through four UFC appearances. Her striking volume has also survived into later rounds.
Judice can attack while Chaves is closing distance, punish failed shots and immediately restart combinations when they separate. Her one-inch height advantage disappears in practical terms because both women have a listed 68-inch reach.
Chaves is durable enough to make a quick finish less attractive than the -585 price might suggest. She has never been stopped professionally and has already completed two consecutive 15-minute fights against UFC-level opposition.
Prediction: Carli Judice by unanimous decision.
Betting Analysis
Bookmaker Sportsbook lists Carli Judice at -585 and Jeisla Chaves at +410. The total is 2.5 rounds, with the over at -150 and the under at +122.
Judice’s moneyline requires an implied probability above 85%. Her recent work explains the favouritism; the price leaves very little room for the ordinary uncertainty of a three-round MMA fight.
Chaves’ record supplies some of that uncertainty. She is 8-0, has never been stopped and has already shown an ability to win competitive rounds through more than striking alone.
The MMA/UFC Betting Hub is particularly relevant when a favourite’s technical advantage and the usable betting price have separated this far. Judice can be the substantially better pick to win without -585 becoming attractive.
The UFC Betting Guide also provides a useful distinction between predicting the winner and finding the most defensible wager. They don’t have to be the same.
Betting Lean
Over 2.5 rounds at -150.
Judice’s five knockouts make that uncomfortable enough to produce a viable price. Chaves’ professional durability and ability to slow sections of a fight through clinching and takedowns work in the other direction.
Judice’s most recent fight went the full 15 minutes. Chaves’ last two fights went the full 15 minutes. A Judice decision fits both the technical prediction and the over without requiring Chaves to solve the harder striking matchup.
