2017 Kentucky Derby Post Time Entrants Odds Online Betting

Whatever happens May 6 at the Kentucky Derby will become part of racing history if the winner completes the Triple Crown.

American Pharoah pulled it off two years ago and became a household name. Secretariat (1973), Seattle Slew (1977) and Affirmed (1978) are still talked about to this day.

The 2017 Kentucky Derby isn’t until this Saturday (post time is 6:46 PM ET on NBC), but you can already bet on the biggest event in horse racing. Online betting is available for 21 possible entrants into Saturday’s field.

At press time, Classic Empire and Always Dreaming are 4/1 co-favorites on the Kentucky Derby odds market. Irish War Cry (13/2) and McCraken (7/1) aren’t very far behind.

After the post positions are drawn Wednesday (11 AM ET, also on NBC) and the field whittled down to a maximum of 20 horses, Bovada Racebook will have the full array of betting options on the table.

If this is your first crack at horse betting, or if you’re still not sure what your options are, here’s a quick primer of all the different ways you can bet on the Kentucky Derby.

There was a time when only the richest horseplayers in the world could place their bets at the track of their choosing, from the familiar dirt at Churchill Downs to the turf ovals of Australia and the Tapeta Footing in Dubai.

But thanks to Bovada Racebook, you can bet on the horses at all of these venues and more, all from the comfort of home – or on the go using your mobile device.

Want to bet on Triple Crown races like the Kentucky Derby? We've got it. The Breeders' Cup? We've got it. We also have
daily races available from our list of over 80 venues, everything from the turf ovals in Australia to the famous dirt track at Santa Anita Park.

Betting on horse racing at Bovada is as simple as the click of a mouse or the tap of a finger. On the left side of our home page, you'll find Today's Tracks, listed in alphabetical order. Open any of those tracks to see which races are coming up; click on a race, and you'll see which horses are competing, with their jockeys and their Morning Line odds. You can bet on horses to win, place or show, or finish anywhere in the top three. You can also put together your own quinellas, exactas, trifectas and superfectas.

Don't forget about those big marquee races, either. Odds for upcoming major events are available on the futures market; you can pick a winner just like you would for the Super Bowl or the World Series. And as always, Bovada is there to guide you with immaculate customer service, comprehensive help menus and expert betting advice.
